Oakland County Traditional Dance Society - 30th Anniversary - Dance, Food, Music
(Special Events)
OCTDS announces that after 1.5 years of being shutdown due to the COVID pandemic, that it resumes dancing! "Bringing Music & Dance ... BACK ... to Life". On Saturday, August 28th 2021 OCTDS will be holding its 30th Anniversary Festival. Celebrating both the return to dancing & music and the founding anniversary of the nonprofit group. A nearly daylong party with 2 dance sessions and catered dinners.
OCTDS brings you the great music of the northern Michigan contra band, "The Johns", featuring Ruby John on fiddle, John Warstler on guitar, and Budd Greenman on fiddle, mandolin, tenor banjo, and cajon. This fantastic group is joined by the awesome leadership of that great Ohio Caller, Darlene Underwood. A terrific day for the entire community, new & experienced, young and old. Family friendly. We dance in an air-conditioned hall with a wood floor. Drinks and snacks are provided. Always live music by talented musicians. All dances are taught and easy to learn. No partners or experience are necessary.
Social community fun! Everybody is welcome!
