Join us in celebration of the inaugural Spartan Upcycle x Art Lab Residency, resulting in a solo exhibition by Detroit artist Megan Heeres. Heeres considers how we take care of our spaces and each other, both ecologically and on a personal level through her papermaking and sculptural-based practice. This residency and exhibition is the result of the inaugural collaboration between the MSU Broad Art Lab and Spartan Upcycle, the creative reuse branch of the MSU Surplus Store & Recycling Center. Heere's installation will be primarily composed of raw materials received by the campus recycling center, landscaping, and other items that would otherwise end up in landfills.

The artist, curator, and staff from the MSU Surplus Store & Recycling Center will be in the gallery to answer questions and engage in conversation about this project. Learn more about this upcoming exhibition at broadmuseum.msu.edu. Registration for this free event is required.
