Invited Talk by Kai Zhang on Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare
(Student Events) American Physician Scientists Association Invited Talk by Kai Zhang on Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare. With the increase of healthcare data diversity and heterogeneity, it is more difficult for physicians to make the best clinical decision. AI provides valuable support in addressing this. Recent advance in Large Language Models (LLMs), such as OpenAI ChatGPT and Google Bard have demonstrated amazing performance in clinical reasoning, clinical note auto-generation, based on smart data integration and fusion from multimodalities. Kai Zhang, a PhD candidate from Lehigh University, will delve into this direction, from its capability of revolutionizing various healthcare domains from radiography and disease prediction, to its significant challenges such as data privacy laws like HIPAA and issues related to data quality persist. He will also discuss limitations and look toward the future, envisioning an ecosystem where AI becomes an integral part of next-generation healthcare from the perspective of a computer scientist. Kai proposed the first generalist AI model for biomedicine in the world named BiomedGPT while visiting Mayo Clinic.
