Inclusive Pedagogy Introduction  (Conferences / Seminars / Lectures)

This 90-minute, face-to-face workshop is designed to provide educators with the frameworks and resources needed to create inclusive courses to honor and uplift the diversity of learners and disciplinary knowledge systems. This workshop will overview the importance of intersectionality and inclusive pedagogy, regardless of discipline. Educators will be provided with pathways for more resources to take beyond this 90-minutes. Then, the second half of the workshop will allow educators to reflect on their own practices and create an action plan for revision to their pedagogy for when they leave the workshop.

This workshop is intended for any educator at Michigan State University. It is designed for educators new to the conversation and experienced, as the work toward inclusivity is always on-going.

Upon completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:

Articulate the meaning and importance of inclusive pedagogy, intersectionality, and DEI
Locate resources for inclusive pedagogy
Reflect on their own practices for inclusive pedagogy
Create an action plan for implementing inclusive course design

Registration is required. There are 35 seats available.
