Community Integrated Medicine Mental Health First Aid Training  (Training)

MSUCOM and CIM are hosting and Adult Mental Health First Aid Training. MHFA is important because mental health problems are common. People with mental health problems often do not seek help. MHFA training improves your ability to become an advocate for individuals living with mental health complaints. During the 8-hour MHFA training, students will learn about: 1. Prevalance of mental illness and its costs. 2. The potential warning signs and risk factors for depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. 3. 5-Step Action Plan (ALGEE) to help an individual in crisis. 4. 
Resources available to help someone with a mental health problems.
