Math Seminar Series
(Conferences / Seminars / Lectures)
Algebra
Lennart Gehrmann from Universität Duisburg-Essen will be speaking.
The seminar is titled "Gelfand's trick for the spherical derived Hecke algebra."
This is a virtual meeting.
Contact Preston Wake (wakepres@msu.edu) for more information.
Gelfand's trick shows that the spherical Hecke algebra of a p-adic split reductive group such as GLn(Qp) is commutative. In this talk I will present a generalization of this result to the setting of derived Hecke algebras as introduced by Venkatesh, i.e. I show that the spherical derived Hecke algebra is graded-commutative under mild assumptions on the coefficient ring. more information...
